Prop Master

So, in honor of the royal wedding this morning, (Kate looked gorgeous) I thought I'd post some of my favorite wedding photos/ideas.

I love the ampersand signs! It is such a sweet, fun prop. I love the first picture, with the grandparents holing the "&." I think it is so sweet to have the cornerstones of both families, with long marriages as part of your photographs!

I love the frames as a prop! They are so creative!

Barn Style

I think I'm a little obsessed with sliding barn doors in a house. I have more than a couple pictures of barn doors...more than I need, but I can't bring myself to delete them!

Kinda fun, right?!

For Those Future Kiddos

One day, I'd love to be a mom. One day many many many many many years down the road, but one day nonetheless! Here are some pictures I thought were just too cute!

I absolutely want to have an alphabet wall in one room. It's so fun! Plus, who doesn't love a button "O"?

I think the first three pictures are attainable. The fourth pic though...my kids can dream! Unless their  daddy is some engineer/master carpenter combo (cause Lord knows I'm not) they won't have a ferris wheel in their room. But...how fun is that?!

Earned a Chuckle....

I need to start including this in texts to a lot of my friends. I am the chronic late one.

I Nearly Died...

...I was laughing so hard. Seriously, this is the funniest blog I have ever read in my life. I was crying. Not even kidding. Tears were streaming down my face and I had a whole new set of abs from laughing so hard. (Okay, that might be an exaggeration.)

Hyperbole and A Half

Be sure to give yourself a couple hours of spare time when you click this link. One post will not be enough. It's impossible to not click on another. Impossible. Just impossible.

Summer Looks!

I can't wait for summer. Most often, I will be in athletic shorts and a t-shirt, but here are some other ideas I might try:

If only I had the wallet to go and buy all of these outfits rightnownownow!
Oh well.
A girl's gotta eat.
And buy gas.

Headboard Love

I'm a fan of headboards. They can absolutely step a room up a notch! Here are a few headboards I found and immediately fell in love with:

I saved my absolute favorite for last. I literally had an audible GASP. It was intense. You guys think I'm kidding....but I'm not.

Can I please have this room?

I feel like that headboard would be so easy to make, too. (Future DIY project, perhaps?)

It's a Good Friday

Matthew 27:45-54

From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.” Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

I'm in Love...

...with yellow! I think yellow is such a happy-inducing shade. It always makes me feel a little "cheerier" when I see it. I realize that probably sounds insane, but hey...oh well. Here are some pics with yellow home accents that I looooooove.

I could stare at these all day. Well, maybe not. But I think I could for a while. Maybe a good 15 minutes. I know the picture of the spoons is weird, but the cool thing is that those are dipped in paint. I don't know if I could muster the courage to deface a whole set of silverware, but if you are looking to spice things up, dip the silverware in paint! Crazy, right? I also love the sliding barn door. I would love to have one in my house somewhere. (Maybe silding barn doors going into a dining room?) And the stenciled floor...oh. Much love.

Clearly, yellow as an accent is close to my heart. And I try real hard to incorporate it...as shown by this picture of my room at my parent's house (that I don't live in anymore).

Happy Thursday!

Style Crushin'

Hard core. For...Sydney at "The Daybook." So much love. So much. Words cannot express how much I wish I had her closet.

Can't wait for her spring posts to keep coming, so I can copy copy copy! (That's the highest form of flattery, right?)

Enjoy her style, hilarious posts, and charm here.

Something to Think About...

In love with this old song by David Gray. Just listen to the lyrics...I wish I could write like this!

I Confess....

I love subway tile. And not Subway restuarant tile, but subway tile! I think it looks so clean and classy.

I would love to implement this in atleast a kitchen someday. I think it looks amazing! Plus, when you are cooking, you don't have to worry about something splattering onto the plaster. You can easily wipe it off! I'd love to have a kitchen where a majority of surfaces in it could be wiped down. So clean!

But subway tile is not limited to only kitchens. It also looks fabulous in bathrooms. Which is so not a surprise.

I love that subway tiles can be glass or ceramic. I love the look of glass tiles, such as the second kitchen picture. It looks AMAZING!

Happy Monday! (Only 3 more Mondays of the semester left. Heck yeah.)

Forgiveness is Sweeter

This past week, and especially the past couple of days, I feel the Lord has put forgiveness on my heart and mind in a big way. I recently heard a song by Chris August, called "7x70," in which he talks about forgiving his parents for breaking their family apart. I have played it non-stop ever since I heard it! With that song consistently in my head, along with some other circumstances that occured this week, I have been thinking about forgiveness a lot this past week. I am always humbled by the passage in Colossions:

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive each other if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
Colossions 3:12-14

"Forgive as the Lord forgave you." This never ceases to convict me. I have done worse things to God than anyone has ever done to me--I have sinned against a perfect, holy God, who sent His son to die in agony for me, to take upon himself the sins I committed, so that I may know God, and one day stand in His presence. In my wickedness, my voice has called out among the mockers, and I have heaped upon myself the just wrath of God. The absolute beauty of salvation is that I have been excused from God's wrath--because the price has been paid. In full. Jesus died an excruiating death, died in a way that each of us deserves, so that I might know God. I am loved unconditionally--when I continue to fall and sin, my salvation is still secure, my debt is still paid, and my sins are forgotten. I still stand before God white as snow, blameless, because the blood of Christ has washed me clean. The Lord has forgiven me of everything I did, and will do! So who am I to hold something against someone? My place is not to judge. That's God's job. In light of the Lord's forgiveness of me, why shouldn't I extend the same to others? In light of eternity, who am I to waste my time holding a grudge, when I need to be glorifying God with my thoughts, actions, words, and intentions? In heaven, these things won't matter. Forgiveness is so much sweeter than holding a grudge, or a mistake over someone. There are so many things that God could hold over me, yet he doesn't. And that is worth praising God about!

So Many Things To Do...

...on so many walls! Here are some fun pictures I found recently:

So cool! I love the scalloped edging on the third picture. Or whatever you want to call it. Point being: it looks cool. I also find the slate gray wall on the first picture interesting. I feel like people rarely go that dark on their walls, but the dark color really helps the white mechanics of the clock POP, along with the white frames and colorful paper inside. So fun!

Worth a Chuckle

Just a few prints I saw today that made me laugh!

I really want to put that in my classroom some day. I think it would be so funny!

My Continuing Obsession With....

Doors! I found a few new pictures of doors that I absolutely love! The sad thing is, I will only have one front door. So I have to choose what I want to do with it. This makes me a little glum, to say the least.
